Selma R. Banks was born on April 6, 1921 in Maple, Iowa, a daughter of John Banks and Ella (Noonan) Banks. She married Edwin T. Ingles on December 5, 1939 in Galesburg; he preceded his wife in death on February 17, 1973. Selma worked at Miller's Florist, Moline for several years and then at Washington Junior High School, Rock Island as a library aide. Later she worked at the Younker's Department Store in South Park Mall, Moline from 1978 until September 7, 2003 when she retired. Mrs. Ingles was a member of Memorial Christian Church, Moline. She loved animals and enjoyed feeding the birds and squirrels in her yard and spending time with her pet cats. She was an avid reader and enjoyed doing cross word puzzles.


Survivors include her nieces, nephews; several great nieces and great nephews; and many special friends.


She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Edwin; siblings, Irene Gallagher, John Banks, Alice Banks, Harold Valentine Banks, Eugene Banks, Chester Banks, Lester Banks, Milo Banks.
