Mary was the second of six children. Her parents were Albert Goark/Gurak (1884-? No known date or interment. Not buried with Josephine) and Josephine (Madej/Maday) Goark/Gurak (1877-1954).
Her siblings were Louise A Goark (1908-1991 Mem #83661002), John Albert Gurak/Goark (1911-1977 Mem #83658246), Velontie John Goark (1911-1942 No known interment/memorial. The reason for the Goark/Gurak: When Albert and Josephine came to the U.S from Poland their name was changed as many were. They took their name, Górak, and gave them Gurak or Goark. On the birth certificates of their children, both names are featured. When they reached a certain age they were able to decide which one they were going to use. Some chose Goark, some chose Gurak.
