Dorothy A. Stettler, 88, passed away on Tuesday, January 17, 2012 at Fleur Heights Care Center. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m., Thursday, January 19 at Iles Funeral Homes - Grandview Park Chapel. Cremation will follow the visitation and burial will be held on Friday, May 25, 2012 at the Highland Cemetery in Bayard, IA.

Dorothy was born on July 31, 1923 in Bagley, Iowa, the daughter of Lydia Huss and William Palmer. She grew up in Bagley and had lived in Coon Rapids and the last 40 years in West Des Moines. She was married to Carlisle "Bud" Stettler in 1943. Dorothy was very artistic and enjoyed spending time with her family, playing Bingo and doing crafts.

Dorothy is survived by children, Don Stettler; Luella Curtis, Becky (Rob Parker) Kingery, Donna (Phil) Singletary, and Rick, Roger and Peggy Stettler; 10 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild and a sister-in-law, Lorna Palmer; and many nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Carlisle; children, Tommy and Linda and eight siblings.
