Orphalee Blanchard, 77, of Baytown, Passed away on Friday, January 23, 2004 in a local health care facility.
She was born in Blox, Texas on June 21, 1926 to parents Wesley and Sadie Pouland. She moved to Baytown in 1950 and has been a member of Cedar Bayou Baptist Church since moving to Baytown.
She was a wonderful wife and mother and a very special person all who knew her. Her faith was strong in the Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ and she is now with Him.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Sadie Battles of Lufkin; father, Wesley M. Pouland of Lufkin; son, Ronald Wesley Colwell of Liberty; brother, Ervin Pouland of Lufkin.
She is survived by her husband, Tilman J. Blanchard of Baytown; daughter, Virginia A. Dodson of Baytown; sons and daughters-in-law,Wayne and Lynda Colwell of Humble and Harrell and Reita Colwell, Jr. of Liberty; stepson Craig Blanchard and wife Jody of Baytown; grandchildren, Kristi Dobson, Leticia Nye, Jennifer Harms, Donald Wade, William Wad, Crystal Colwell, Cristina Colwell, Scotty Nugent, Wesley Colwell, Andrew Blanchard and nine great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be today, Monday, January 26, 2004, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Navarre Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be on Tuesday, January 27, 2004 at 10 a.m. at Cedar Bayou Baptist Church with Dr. Mark Broussard officiating. Burial will be at Palms Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Sheldon Groomer, William Mitchell, Donald Wade, William Wade, William Joe Harris and Virgil Curtis. Honorary pallbearers are David Jackson, Joe Reyes, Tom Denson, John Munson and Andrew Blanchard.
Arrangements are under the direction of Navarre Funeral Home, 2444 Rollingbrook, Baytown, Texas.
