Ruben Carl Hauschultz was born on July 9, 1913, in Dupont, Waupaca, Wisconsin, to Carl and Auguste. He grew up on the family farm, that his parents operated there after immigrating from Germany, with his siblings: Emma, Alvin Elsie, Olga (Emil) Kersten, Walter and Otto. Ruben married Elda Braatz on December 21, 1937. The couple made their home on Ramsdell Street in Marion where they raised their children: Florence Kunst and Jerry who they tragically lost his life in the Vietnam War. Elda and Rueben were members of St. John's in Marion.He died on April 24, 1992, in Waupaca, Wisconsin, at the age of 78, and was buried in Dupont, Wisconsin.
