The new family at this time consisted of father Zephaniah, his living children (from Amy Amelia Morris, his first wife) who were: Emma Amelia, 15 and Joseph 13; plus his living unmarried children (from Caroline Thomas, his second wife) who were: Mary Blanche, 10; Ephraim Edward, 8; and Rhoda, 2.
In addition, there was a third wife, Mary Griffith, "Mrs. Mary Williams, the widow of John Williams" along with her living unmarried children (from her first husband) who were: Annie Williams, 16 and Henry Williams, 13.
Eli's mother had died two weeks after his birth; Eli was buried in the same plot with his mother.
Note: Two sons supposedly from the second marriage to Caroline Thomas, are identified as John, born 1863 (who lived to maturity and may have been in another household - died 1952) and Henry, born 1865, died about 1869, were not on the 1870 Census with this new family group.
