George Frances Adams was born in Chariton County, MO. the fifth of seven children of John W. and Mary F. Adams.

He enlisted in the US Army in 1898 and served during the Spanish-American War in the 7th Cavalry at Pinar Del Rio.

In 1908, he graduated from Washington State University with training as a pharmacist, and shortly after married Serena Marie Trumbo.

He located with his family in Sutherlin, OR, around 1910 and operated the Adams Drug Store until his death from influenza in Feb. 1920.

To his extended family he was known as "Uncle Doc". He left a wife and three children.
