*The family of Michael S. Bailey, Sr. sadly reports his passing on January 22, 2011, of natural causes.
Born April 26, 1954, Mike graduated Watsonville HS, 1972, BS Santa Clara University, 1976, MBA USD. Mike served aboard the USS Barb, SSN596, a nuclear fast-attack submarine, leaving the Navy as a Commander. He became a certified business process engineer in software.
Mike had many talents: 4H All-Star, excellent skier, sailor, and scuba diver. He loved gardening, waging a private war against gophers. Mike served as Unit Commissioner and Eagle Advisor for Scouting, with many Eagle Scouts to his credit. Generous to help neighbors, he belonged to St. Peter Catholic Church.
He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Ellen Bailey; two sons, Michael S. Bailey, Jr, 27, at the University of WV, Morgantown, and Patrick A. Bailey, 19, at Mira Costa College, all of Fallbrook; parents: George and Joann Bailey; and sister, Joan Bailey of Watsonville.
Memorial service and Mass, with reception, at St. Peter's, Fallbrook, on Sat, Feb 12, 1pm. Interment at Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery to be arranged.
He will be sorely missed. We commend his spirit to our loving Lord, who promised to make all things new. We trust in this promise and find comfort there, despite our sorrow.
We recommend the following memorials: St. Peter Catholic Church, 450 S. Stage Coach Lane, Fallbrook, CA 92028; San Diego Imperial Council, BSA,1207 Upas Street, San Diego, CA 92103. Please note, 'In Memory of Michael Bailey'.
