Wife of Patrick, mother of Lucille, Eugene, Mildred, and William.

Luella's oldest daughter, Lucille Buckley, was the FIRST Mather School Librarian in Munising, along with her duties as MHS Secretary to Mr. Dixon, before Brynhild "Beo" Oas took over as Librarian, Fall 1923 until early 1942, after she married Edmond "Bob" Mitchell in September 1941 and before she gave birth to their daughter on June 30, 1942. Lucille was born in NY in September 1897, but had moved to Munising by 1900 with her parents (both born in NY of Irish parents), Patrick (born September 1872, son of James & Catharine, Irish immigrants to Genoa, NY by 1880) who was a Day Laborer, then a "Woods Lumberman", Luella S. (b: March 1871- d: 1947, buried Maple Grove Cemetery). On April 8, 1940, Lucille was still single, age 43, a high school graduate, a Stenographer in the Munising "High School Office," and living with her mother (69), 9th grade education, at 820 W. Superior Street in Munising. Her mother died seven years later in Munising, but I found no records of what happened to Lucille or the rest of her family: Her father, Patrick; her brother, Eugene, b: September 1899; or her sister, Mildred, b: about 1906, except for her younger brother, William, b: Jan 1903, d: Aug 1975, Rock, Delta Co., MI. In 1940 he was renting an apartment for $35/mo @ 2051 Waverly St., Detroit, Wayne Co, MI, while working as an Account Clerk on a Street Grading Project. In 1935, he and his family (all born in MI), had lived in Rural Alger Co., MI. He had a 10th grade education; in 1939 he worked 36 weeks for $630 but had income from other sources. He was married to Helen Buckley (b: 1906) 10th grade education, and they had two daughters, Juanita (b: 1925) 8th gr, & Dorothy (b: 1927) 6th gr. education in 1940.
