Eli Thomas Ogle was born in 1839 in Sevier County, Tennessee. Eli Was the son of Harkless T Ogle and Margaret "Peggy" Ownbey-Ogle

Eli Ogle married Mary Ownby in Sevier County, Tennessee on Sept 4, 1856. Mary Ownby was the daughter of Nicholas H. Ownby and Mary Ogle

Eli and Mary Ogle had the following Children;

1. Washington Arthur Ogle
2. Susannah "Susie" Ogle
3. Nicholas Harvey Ogle
4. Dicy Jane Ogle

Eli Ogle was a Baptist minister and farmer. He was severely injured at a log rolling and died from the injuries.

Rev Eli Thomas Ogle died April 24 1867, he is buried at White Oak Flats Cemetery, Gatlinburg, Sevier County, Tennessee
