William Joseph Alkire born in Lewis County August 4, 1848, died January 20, 1925, aged 76 years, 5 months and 16 days. Married Mary Jane Lowther in 1872. Five children, Emory, Ethel, Wilkie, Okey and Cecil Alkire, two of them deceased. Survived by wife and three brothers, Samuel J., John S., and Albert L. Alkire. Three sisters, Mrs. A. P. Hamilton, Mrs. J. W. Hefner and Mrs. S. W. Taylor, survive. Funeral at the home Thursday, interment at the Long Point Cemetery in Collins Settlement near the late home of the deceased.
