Son of Esco Reese and Mary Thomasine Russell. Husband of Mayme Ardith McFarland and Virginia Orlia Bowers. Virginia was born Apr 10, 1900 in Elk Park, NC to Valentine Broadway Bowers and Lucretia Virginia Wise. She and Almer married Jun 30, 1920. I don't know where she is buried. He and Mayme married on Nov 22, 1969. She was the daughter of Joseph Rutherford McFarland and Maud Ellen Looper and she's buried in Jamestown Cemetery under the name McFarland, although when Almer married her the last name then was McKinney, meaning she had been married to a McKinney before marrying Almer. Orlia and Almer met at Lindsey Wilson where they were both students. They were on their way to their home in Fort Lauderdale, Fl and she became ill on the way there. She died Feb 22, 1967 and is buried in Happy Valley Cemetery in North Carolina. Orlia had a brother named Valentine. I guess that's where Robert's middle name came from.
