Alva Lee Flowers, 88, passed away on Tuesday, January 17, 2012 in Garland, TX. He was born August 8, 1923 in Detroit, MI, to Bryson and Gladys (Stockton) Flowers.

Al proudly served his country in the United States Air Force during WWII. He was based in Italy and received two Purple Hearts during his time of faithful service.

After, retiring as a Lieutenant Colonel from the Air Force, Al worked six years in Saudi Arabia as a chemist for Westinghouse Electric.

He was a wonderful father, grandfather and brother as well as a beloved friend to many.

Al is survived by his daughters: Sandra Bambico, Susan Shuart and husband Bill; granddaughter: Kristen Morgan and husband Ken; great- grandchildren: Kj and Kayden Morgan; brothers: Ken Flowers, Carl Flowers and Dan Flowers. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral service will be held 3:30pm, Thursday, January 26, 2012 at Williams Memorial Chapel with Paul Dorsey officiating. Interment will be Friday, January 27, 2012 at 11:15am at the Dallas/ Ft. worth National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Parkway Dallas, TX 75211. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00pm.
