Angie, with five children to support, pursued a successful career in insurance sales for the National Catholic Society of Foresters. She served on the Board of Directors of NCSF for 24 years, was president of the South Dakota Fraternal Congress in 1966 and served on the Board of Directors of the National Fraternal Congress.
She was an active member of St. Mary's Altar Society, the Christian Mothers, NCSF Loyola Court 1104, was a Charter Member of the Salem Community Development Corporation and Colonial Manor Nursing Home. She felt pride when she received the Salem High School Athletic Club Award in 1984. She sponsored the Basketball Free Throw Award to the school for 10 years. Her love of travel took her around the world with children and friends. She made 7 trips to Europe each time visiting the birthplace of her parents in Germany. She traveled to all 50 states, Australia, the Fiji Islands and Japan.
Angie moved from her home in Salem to the Good Samaritan Village, Sioux Falls, SD in April of 1998. She passed away there on Tuesday June 20, 2000. She had reached the age of 91 years, 4 months and 8 days.
Survivors include her daughters, Betty and husband Jerry Feldhaus of Sioux Falls, SD; Bonnie and husband George Saxton of Littleton, Colorado; Pat and husband Dave Bonacker of Sioux Falls, SD; Linda Marquardt of Sioux Falls, SD; her son Larry and wife Patty of St. George, Utah; 14 grandchildren; and 4 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Nicholas, 3 brothers, John, Tony and Henry Bartscher, and 3 sisters, Lena Koch, Mary Wegener, and Tillie Sabers
