Mr. Spence was the son of Halsey and Ella (Nesmith) Spence and graduated from the University of Missouri. He served in WWI, studied law, and was admitted to the California Bar in 1932. He also served in WWII. The 1930 US Census shows him with his wife Ruth, son Glen, and daughter Carol in Los Angeles at 1915 North Commonwealth Ave. He married Lois (McVicker) Resor, 25 Feb 1966, in Los Angeles. Later in life, they lived in Yucca Valley, Calif.
