Mrs. Spence was the daughter of Amy Virginia (Higbee) and the Rev. Harvey Grant McVicker, who lived most of their lives in western Pennsylvania but moved around in younger years with his ministry. Lois graduated from Thiel College in Greenville, Pa., and married Clifford Resor Jr., 6 Apr 1935. They divorced, and Lois later married Harold Robinson Spence in 1966. Lois loved to travel and did a great deal of international travel in the 1980s.
