Bert Trester, 67, a life-long resident of Barton county, died early today at St. Rose hospital where he had been a patient for the last month.

Trester was the son of pioneer parents in this county and was one of the first children to be born here in the early days. A farmer all his life, he had operated a farm on route 4 eight miles northwest of the city up to the time of his fatal illness.

Trester was born here Dec. 29, 1885. In addition to his widow, Margaret, he is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Clarence (Marjorie) Sappington, Green Bay, Wis.; and Mrs. P. E. (Mary Jane) Gory, Kitigman; two sons, Merle of Chicago and Jason of Great Bend; and one brother, Albert, and five sisters, all of Great Bend. The sisters are Clare Trester, Mrs. Roy (Daisy) McMullen, Mrs. Mark (Anna) Brown, Mrs. L. J. (Irma) Campbell and Mrs. Verna Ousley.

Four grandchildren also survive. The body was removed to the Cook and Weter funeral chapel where it will remain until time for the funeral services, to be held in the chapel at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday.

The Rev, H. P. Crawford win officiate and burial will be In the Great Bend cemetery.
