Chester Lee Lawrence, 77, of Berryville, AR went home to be with the Lord on Dec. 29, 2011. He was born Sept. 28, 1934 in Farewell Community, a son of the late Emory and Pearl (White) Lawrence. On June 18, 1979 he was united in marriage with Wanda (Smith) Ayers.

Chester devoted his life to working on the farm and caring for his cattle. He enjoyed the simple things in life, like fishing, quail hunting, training bird-dogs and spending time with family and friends. His warm hug and gentle spirit were generously shared with all around him. He was an active member of Antioch Church.

He was preceded in death by his daughter Jennifer Lee Lawrence in 1972; his mother and father and one sister Wanda Logan.

Celebration of Life Services will be 10 a.m., Monday Jan. 2, 2012 at Antioch Church with Pastor Dale Merideth, Brother Billy Burris and Brother Les Robinson officiating. Interment will follow at Yocum Cemetery. Visitation will be 3-5 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 1, 2012 at Smith Family Funeral Home in Green Forest.Chester Lee Lawrence

Chester Lee Lawrence, 77, of Berryville, AR went home to be with the Lord on December 29, 2011. Chester is survived by his wife Wanda Lawrence, of the home, 3 sons; Chester Carroll Lawrence and wife Jeanie of Berryville, David Ayers of Berryville, Brian Ayers and wife Jannita of Oak Grove, 2 daughters; Ladenna McCullough and husband Alan of Berryville, Ladonna Perkins and husband Terry of Berryville, 2 sisters; Bonnie Patton of Mt. Pleasant, TX. and Carolyn Cope of St. Louis, MO., 15 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his daughter Jennifer Lee Lawrence in 1972, his mother and father and one sister Wanda Logan.
