Vaughn Bowling, 84, passed away peacefully Friday, January 16, 2004. Mr. Bowling was born in Letcher, Kentucky on November 16, 1919. He had been a resident of this area for the past 60 years. Mr. Bowling was an active member and Deacon at Myrtle Grove Baptist Church and taught Sunday School there for many years. After retiring from the Federal Civil Servcie in 1976, Vaughn spent tireless hours of volunteer time visiting the sick and their families in our community. Mr. Bowling is survived by his devoted wife of 59 years, Gladys "Lucy" Bowling; one son, Elton Bowling and his wife Sheila and one very special grandson, Casey Bowling. He is also survived by several brothers and sisters and many nieces and nephews. He will always be remembered for his kindness and his wonderful sense of humor. His church and his family were his life. We would like to thank the staff at Pensacola Health Care for the wonderful care he received. Arrangements by Oak Lawn Funeral Home. Interment at Bayview Memorial Park.
