Mrs. Vada E. Eigenbrode, 94, formerly of 10993 Country Club Road, widow of Daniel I. Eigenbrode, died at 9 p.m. Friday in the Quincy United Methodist Home. She had been in failing health since being admitted to the nursing home in April 1979. Mrs. Eigenbrode suffered a stroke three months ago.

She was born at Elerton, Md., on Dec 8, 1887, daughter of the late Daniel C. and Melissa (Leatherman) Harshman. Her early life was lived in the Myersville area.

She had lived in the Waynesboro area since her marriage in Dec 1921.

Following the death of her husband in May 1937, Mrs. Eigenbrode continued to operate the family farms in the Roadside area until 1950, when she moved to the Country Club Road residence.

She was a member of the Waynesboro Church of the Brethren and the Always Willing Class of the church Sunday School.

She is survived by a son, Merle C. Eigenbrode, Eigenbrode Lane; a daughter, Mrs. Leroy Martin, Gehr Road; and two stepsons; Mark D. Eignebrode, Ringgold, and Russell A. Eigenbrode, Denton, Md. Also surviving are six grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and a number of stepgrandchildren and step great grandchildren.

The funeral will be held Monday at 10:30 a.m. in the Grove Funeral Home in charge of the Rev. Guy R. Buch. Burial will be in the Grossnickle Church of the Brethren Cemetery, Myersville, Md. R. D. 1.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday.
