Mr. I. W. Potts, a gentleman about 52 years old, brought in and showed us a small pair of shoes, that he wore in 1832, made by the hands of his dead mother. The material is heavy cloth, and they are about two and one half inches long. Mr. Potts prizes them highly as a souvenir of his departed parents.

This was recorded in the Carroll Free Press, Carrollton, Ohio, Thursday, September 16, 1891.

Isaac W. Potts, proprietor of the bakery and grocery on east Main Street, is dangerously ill from a stroke of paralysis. He has no use of his right side or vocal organs.
