- John Hiester, aka Johannes Hüster
- Eldest brother of Johann Jost Hüster/Joseph Yost Hiester (1710-1780) and Johann Daniel Hüster/Daniel Hiester (1713-1795)
- Arrived in America on 21 Sep 1731 via the ship Britannia (his brothers Joseph and Daniel arrived later on 26-Sep-1737 via the ship St. Andrews Galley)
** Regarding the parentage of the three wandering Hüster/Hiester brothers John, Joseph, and Daniel - please refer to the article published in 1957 by the German researcher Wilhelm Hartnack "Die Herkunft der in Amerika beruehmt gewordenen Hüsters" (aka "The Origin of the Famous Hüsters (Hiesters) - A revised corrected history to the version presented by Isaak Hiester"). [NOTE: Please contact memorialist if more information is required.]

In 1750 John married Maria/Mary Barbara EPLER [she married second Johann Christian Ruth in 1758]. John and Mary Hiester were the parents of:
1) Maria Catharine (1750-1824)
2) Joseph (1752-1832 [1820-1823: 5th Governor of Pennsylvania]
3) Mathias (1757-c1773)

Reported Problem for Photo Request: I searched the entire cemetery and could not find the grave.
Details: John appears on the Gerberich transcription lists from the 1930s. However, there is no tombstone for him and he is not listed in the Bern Forebears transcription. Mosslady
