Alice D. Thorn, 78, passed away on Sunday, January 22, 2012, at Golden Living Center.

She was born in Tobinsport on June 6, 1933, daughter of the Earl and Verna (Miller) Ahl. Also preceding her in death were her brothers, Earl "Rue", Kenneth and Leon "Bing" Ahl, her husband John William "Bill" Thorn and a grandson, John Williams.

Alice retired from General Electric and attended Clayton Harris Memorial United Methodist Church. She enjoyed music, dancing and horses.

Surviving are her daughters, Betty McBrayer (Randy), Cannelton and Earla Williams (Jim), Tobinsport; sons, Mike Thorn, Tobinsport and Sam Thorn, Rome; grandchildren, Kyria Christison, Kori Woods, Logan Williams, Ashley Thorn and Billy Thorn and great grandchildren, Kailee Zuelly, Donovan Ingle, Adrian Thorn, Athea Woods and Rylan Christison.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, January 25, 2012, at Huber Funeral Home, Cannelton Chapel, with burial in Lamb Cemetery in Tobinsport. Visitation from 2:00 until 8:00 PM on Tuesday and from 9:00 AM until service time on Wednesday at Huber Funeral Home, Cannelton Chapel. Pastor Paul Alvey will officiate.

Memorial contributions may be made to John Williams Memorial Scholarship Fund.
