Patricia Finegan Davis, widow of Lieut. Col. Edward H. White II of the Air Force, the first American astronaut to walk in space, died in her Texas home Tuesday, September 6, 1983 a family spokesman said. Mrs. Davis, who was in her 40s and had undergone surgery to remove a tumor earlier this year, was widowed when Colonel White and two other astronauts were killed in a flash fire inside the Apollo 1 capsule in a test at the Kennedy Space Center in Florida on Jan. 27, 1967.
