William J. "Willie" Aschenbrenner, 82, Oakley, died Friday, Nov. 1, 1996, at Logan County Hospital, Oakley.

Mr. Aschenbrenner was born Sept. 11, 1914 to John and Barbara (Augustine) Aschenbrenner, in Ellis County, and was a longtime area resident. He married Georgina L. "Jean" Glassman on Nov. 21, 1944 at Oakley. He was a retired farmer and a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Oakley, and the American Bowling Congress.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son John William on May 6, 1970; and 13 brothers and sisters.

Survivors include his wife, Georgina L. "Jean" of Oakley; two sons, Thomas of Pratt and Kenneth of Oakley; three daughters, Mary Ann Snethen of Goodland, Janet Zerr of Oakley and Wilma Doll of Big Spring, TX, and 13 grandchildren.

The funeral was at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Nov. 4, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Oakley, the Rev. Roger K. Meitl officiating. Burial was in St. Joseph Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to St. Joseph Catholic School, Oakley. Kennedy-Koster Funeral Home of Oakley was in charge of arrangements.
