Samuel Mahder
Samuel Mahder, 68, of 936 Garden street, passed away Tuesday afternoon in the Sid Peterson Memorial Hospital. Funeral services were held in the Plummer-Fair Funeral Home Chapel last Thursday, with Rev. E.O. Allen officiating. Interment was in the Garden of Memories.
Mr. Mahder was born Oct. 5, 1901 in Robinson, Mich. He was owner and operator of a fishing resort before moving to Kerrville about four years ago. He was a World War I veteran and a Lutheran.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Gertrude Page Mahder of Kerrville; two daughters, Mrs. Sallie [Sally] Mansfield of Los Angeles, Calif. and Alice Louise Mahder of San Francisco, Calif; a son Robert Mahder of Eau Claire, Wis; a sister, Mrs. Kate Reichling of Oak Lawn, Ill and five grandchildren.

(his grandson states he was born in Harkau, Hungary. Samuel did not immigrate to the US until about 1908)
