Lola Delores Born Ashby, 95, of Amarillo died Thursday, Jan. 26, 2012.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday in First Baptist Church Chapel with Howard K. Batson officiating. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.

Mrs. Ashby was born July 24, 1916, in Powhatan, La., to William and Minnie Born. She was a
brilliant speller, winning several spelling bees. Mrs. Ashby was a very passionate person and loved collecting antiques. She dearly loved her family and was a very giving lady. She loved the Lord with all her heart.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Archie Lindsey; five brothers; and three sisters.

Survivors include a daughter, Glenna Cowan and husband Ross of Amarillo; two sons, Grayson Ashby and wife Terri of Amarillo and Howard Ashby and wife Cindy of Athens; seven grandchildren, Mike Robinson of Lafayette, Colo., Kenneth Ashby and wife Yvonne and Dana Robinson and wife
Carolyn, all of Amarillo, Stephen Robinson of Brownsboro, Linda Smith and husband John of Ketchum, Okla., Kate Ashby of Bremerton, Wash., and Janell Ashby of Athens; eight great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. today at the funeral home.
