ANNA MAYME ADAMS
On Saturday, May 28th, the many friends of Miss Mayme Adams were greatly shocked to hear of her sudden death, which occurred at about 4 p.m. Tho' for many weeks anxious parents and sister could only hope for the best, yet they were unprepared for so sudden a blow.
Hoping to be benefitted by a change, Mayme had gone to Nortonville for a short time in order to be near her physician, but in less than a week she became lonesome and asked to be taken home.
About half past three o'clock she, in company with her mother, and under the care of Dr. Groff, started in an automobile for home. When but a few miles on the way she suddenly grew worse. A halt was made and in a few moments she passed peacefully away in her mother's arms. She was conscious up to the very last, speaking to her mother with almost the last breath.
Funeral services were conducted at the R. P. church, on Tuesday afternoon by the Rev. Frader of the United Presbyterian and Dr. Jeffrey of the M. E. church, and interment made in the R. P. cemetery.
The bereaved family have the sympathy of the entire community in their sad affliction.
