In her childhood her parents removed to Lack Township, where at the age of eighteen she was married. The family of Mr. and Mrs. Loudon consisted of eight children, of whom Mrs. Millie Murphy of Altoona, Mrs. Ida Hockenberry, Mrs. Lottie Hockenberry, and Mrs. Mable McMeen, all of East Waterford, and Frank Loudon of Plummer, Idaho, survive.
In girlhood she attached herself to the Methodist Episcopal Church, that being the faith of her father, Matthew Dougherty, who was known throughout the county as an active and consistent laborer in every work of religion and good morals then in use.
At her marriage in 1867, dutifully following the lead of her husband, she passed to the Communion of Presbyterian congregation of East Waterford. (Juniata Sentinel And Republican, February 2, 1916)
