FITCHBURG - Doris I. (LaFleur) Pike, 78, of 31 Gillis Court, a retired clerk, died yesterday in Highlands Care Center after an illness.
She leaves her husband of 56 years, Harvey J. Pike; two daughters, Linda Manning of Franklin and Margaret Eken of Grand Forks, N.D.; five grandchildren; nieces and nephews. She was born in the Cherry Valley section of Leicester, daughter of Henry and Alexcina (Dufault) LaFleur, and lived here most of her life. She graduated from Fitchburg High School in 1937.
Mrs. Pike was a clerk at City Cleaners for 25 years, retiring in 1984. She was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Church.
The funeral will be held Tuesday from Lavery-Chartrand Funeral Home, 99 Summer St., with a Mass at 9:30 a.m. in St. Francis of Assisi Church, 81 Sheridan St. Burial will be in South Cemetery in Lunenburg. A calling hour will be 8:15 to 9:15 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Diversified Visiting Nurse Association, 316 Nichols Road, Fitchburg 01420, or left at the funeral home.
