Richard J. (Pete) Dagenhart, 53, of Rt. 2, Myersville, died Saturday at the home of a neighbor.
Born in Frederick County, he was a son of Mrs. Helen V. Kirby Forrest of Myersville and the late Richard J. Dagenhart.
He was a member of the Pleasant Walk United Methodist Church. He was a member of the Clopper Michael Post No. 10 of Boonsboro. He served in the U.S. Army for 33 years.
Besides his mother, he is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Shirley Kropoth and Mrs. Nancy Baker, both of Hagerstown, and Mrs. Pearl Dunkin of Houston, Texas; three sons, Elmer L. Dagenhart, Charles D. Dagenhart, and Paul LeRoy Dagenhart, all of Hagerstown; 11 grandchildren; one half-sister, Mrs. Hazel Babington of Boonsboro; four half-brothers, Charles E. Forrest, Alvey J. Forrest, Clarence Forrest, and Robert Forrest, all of Myersville.
Services will be held at the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the Bittle Funeral Home this evening. There will be a viewing at the church one hour prior to the services.
