FRANCIS MARSHALL DOW
VERONA — Francis M. Dow, 64, died at a Bangor hospital, Aug. 19, 1993. He was born June 11, 1929, at Castine, the son of Wilson and Theresa (Gray) Dow. Mr. Dow served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. He retired from the Air National Guard after 28 years of service. He was a member of the Verona Grange No. 206, the State and National Grange, Hancock Pomona Grange No. 13, Bucksport American Legion Post No. 93, Felicity Chapter OES No. 195 of Bucksport, 40-8 Club of Stockton Springs, Felicity Lodge No. 19 AF & AM of Bucksport, Anah Temple Shrine of Bangor, Odd Fellows of Blue Hill, Brewer Eagles Club Aerie No. 3177, Amos Club of Belfast. He was an avid gardener. He is survived by his wife, Virginia (Clement) Dow of Verona; two daughters, Auline and her husband, Scott Howard of Buck-sport, Julia and her husband, Derek Dunbar of Bucksport; one son, Marshall Dow of Bucksport; five grandchildren, Dawn, Bambi and Amie Howard, Derek and Theresa Dunbar, all of Bucksport; one sister, Nina and her husband, Ralston Gray of Orland; one brother, Robert and his wife, Rose Dow of Orland; several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by one brother, Neil Dow. Family and friends may call 6-8 p.m. Sunday at the Mitchell-Tweedie Funeral Home, Bucksport, where funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Monday with officers of the Felicity Lodge officiating. Interment will be in Silver Lake Cemetery, Bucksport, with full military honors conducted by the Orono American Legion. Donations in his memory may be made to the Cancer/Tumor Clinic, Eastern Maine Charities, Francis Dow Memorial Fund, 489 State St., Bangor 04401.
