Louis Barres 72, 1572 Edison St. died this morning at a local hospital after a long illness. The son of the late Julian and Adele Barres married Josephine Beno on Nov. 26, 1919. Mr. Barres was the founder and operator of the Palace Food Market at 335 N. Ashland Ave. from 1929 until his retirement in 1947. He was a member of the Holy Name Society and the Catholic Order of foresters.
Survivors are his wife; two sisters, Mrs. Agnes Daul and Mrs. Josephine Beno, both of Green Bay; nieces and nephews.
In state at Malcore Funeral Home after 6:30 this evening Prayer service each evening at 8:00; Wednesday by the Rev. David Rondou. Funeral 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Willebrord Church. Burial in Allouez Cemetery.
