"Carl W. Doozan passed away suddenly Wednesday, July 9, 1986 at Saginaw General Hospital. Age 69 years. He was born Jan. 28, 1917 in Saginaw, residing here all of his life. He married Shirley A. Lovay on April 27, 1946. She passed away July 15, 1979. He then married Carol Kline on July 10, 1982. She survives him. He was a member of SS. Peter and Paul's Catholic Church, the Knight of Columbus Council No. 593, the Michigan Bar Association, and an alumnus of Notre Dame. Mr. Doozan was a veteran of WWII, a former city councilman, and a former city judge. He was a partner in the Doozan & Scorsone Law Firm of Saginaw. Surviving besides his wife are six sons and four daughters, Mrs. Kathleen Shirazi, Thousand Oaks, CA; Mrs. Charles (Carolyn) Cowan, Alexandria, VA; Carl W. Doozan, Jr.; and Thomas E. Doozan, both of Tampa, FL; Robert J. Doozan, Walnut Park, CA; David M. Doozan, Hastings, MI; Mrs. Lawrence (Barbara) Hrinik; Mrs. Michael (Janice) Orosz; Mark A. Doozan, all of Saginaw; Gregory M. Doozan, Troy; two step-sons and three step-daughters; Mrs. Gerald (Brenda) Bissette; Brian A. Beins; Craig Beins, Jr.; Kimberly A. Beins; Ericka Beins, all of Saginaw; 18 grandchildren; one brother and one sister, Mrs. Clara Stuecker, Flushing, MI; Frank Doozan, Jr., Saginaw; his mother-in-law, Mrs. Vera Lovay, Saginaw. He also leaves four exchange students residing in Europe and South America. He also leaves a foster family of eight, in the Phillipines. Also surviving are several nieces; nephews; and cousins. A son, Glen S. Doozen, predeceased him April 11, 1984. A sister, Mrs. Julie Bedwell, also predeceased him.

Funeral service will take place 10:00 a.m. Saturday at SS. Peter and Paul's Catholic Church. Rev. Msgr. Joseph V. Adamec will officiate, with burial in St. Andrew's Cemetery. Friends may call at the McIntyre Chapel after 7:00 p.m. Thursday, where the family will be present from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Thursday and 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Friday. Pastor Tom Pedigo of Hopevale Baptist Church will conduct a prayer service 7:30 p.m. Thursday. There will be a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. Friday. The Knights of Columbus Council #593 will pray the Rosary at 8:00 p.m. Friday."
