NORBERT STEIN

Father Norbert Stein SSJ, 67, a former Newton, Wis., resident, died Saturday, Dec. 29, 2001, at St. Francis of Assisi Rectory in Breaux Bridge, La., following a lengthy illness. Fr. Norbert was born Dec. 15, 1934, in Newton, Wis., a son of the late Arthur and Rose Stein. He attended the Salvatorian Seminary in St. Nazianz, Wis., and was ordained to the priesthood in June 1961 at the National Shrine in Washington, D.C. Fr. Norbert's most recent assignment was as pastor of St. Rose of Lima Parish in Cecilia, La.
Survivors include four brothers, Raymond Stein of West Allis, Wis., Harold (March) Stein of Cleveland, Wis., Arthur (Elizabeth) Stein of Sheboygan, and Kenneth (Nancy) Stein of Kiel; six sisters, Mary Ann Kreps of Dixon, Ill., Lucille (Joseph) Binder of Sheboygan, Rose Mary (Clyde) Welland of Port Washington, Wis., Joan (Michael) Ostertag of Sheboygan, Rosann (Steve) Hermans of Auburn Hills, Mich., and Karen (Wayne) Junk of Newton, Wis.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Rose of Lima Parish in Cecilia, La., with a Memorial Mass to follow at St. Peter Claver Parish in Sheboygan.
