" Death claimed a well known and highly esteemed resident of Dorloo, NY., in passing of Dewey B. Weber, Friday morning, March 26th, 1920, at his home. Mr. Weber had been ailing for some time from heart trouble, but the announcement of his death came as a surprise to many who had not regarded his illness as serious. Dewey B. Weber was the eldest son of Mr. & Mrs. Jacob Weber, people greatly respected & members of the Lutheran Church of Gardnersville, NY. He was born in the Town of Seward, NY in 1861. In 1884 he was united in marriage to Miss Mary Gillette, daughter of Albert & Hannah Cross Gillette of South Valley, & very intelligent & highly esteemed people ... Three children were born to them, one daughter & two sons, the daughter having died in infancy. Mr. & Mrs. Weber were rewarded for the sacrifices they made in helping to give their sons a college education. Prof. Howard Weber, the eldest son, is a fine scholar & writes for magazines, receiving for his first productions, quite large sums of money. At present he is principle of a school at Alexander Bay, NY. Leroy Weber is an eminent chemist & fine musician & has a position at Cortland, & both receiving large salaries ... He was twice married, his last wife surviving him & two sons & three grandsons, Kenneth & Glen Weber of Alexandria Bay, NY & Leroy Weber, Jr., of Cortland, NY ; One sister, Mrs. Edward Cross, of Seward, NY.
