Debra Sue Anderson

Debra Sue Rutherford Anderson, 48, Carthage, died at 2:43 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 30, 2000, at her home after an illness.

Mrs. Anderson was born Aug. 31, 1952, in Carthage, the daughter of Doyle and Billie Rutherford, who survive. She was a 1970 graduate of Carthage High School. She lived in Houston, Texas from 1977 to 1993. She was a member of the Gospel duet, Spirit Wings. She designed clothing and sold antiques and collectibles. She was a member of the Carthage chapter of Beta Sigma Phi. She also worked as a construction estimator, medical assistant and legal secretary. Her last employment was at Checkett and Pauley, Carthage.

She married Richard H. Anderson on March 4, 1995, who survives.

Additional survivors include a son, James Still, Carthage; a daughter, Hayley Divine, Lockwood; two step-sons, Richard K. Anderson and Stan Anderson; a sister, Lisa Sanderson, Maple Grove; grandmother, Mabel Stephenson, Carthage and four grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Michael Rutherford.

Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 3 at Knell mortuary. Burial will be at Park Cemetery. Visitation is from 7 to 8 p.m. tonight.

Memorial are suggested to St. John's Hospice in lieu of flowers.

Services for Debra Sue Anderson, 48, Carthage, who died Saturday, Sept. 30, 2000, were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Knell Mortuary in Carthage with Minister Linthicum officiating.

Jordan Linthicum sang "Live For Jesus." Recorded music by Debra entitled "In A Little While," "Friends", "Vessel of Love," "When All Is Said And Done" and "Goodbye For Now" was played.

Pall bearers were Richard Deckard, Jerry Nickeson, Larry Rodelander, Bill Scritchfield, Charles Smith, James Still and Ron Wagner. Memorial contributions are suggested to St. John's Hospice. Services were under the direction of Knell Mortuary, Carthage.
