Clarence Croft, age 81, of Maryville, formerly of Madisonville, passed away 9:15 a.m. Wednesday, February 1, 2012, at Blount Memorial Hospital.

He was a member of Madison Avenue Baptist Church, Maryville.

Survivors include wife, Dorothy (Dot) Thompson Croft; daughters and sons-in-law, Sandra and Rick Morgan, Karen and Ronnie Headrick, Carla Nuchols, Stephanie Hunter and friend, Chet Oxendine, Ronnie Potter; stepchildren and spouses, Tommy and Amy Long, David and Carrie Long, Becky and Mark Clevenger; 12 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren, six stepgrandchildren; brother, Rev. James Croft, Jr.; numerous nieces and nephews who loved him so much; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, James and Nit Thompson, Carl and Linda Thompson, Norma Wilkie and Ray Headrick, Pat Roberts, Steve Jenkins; special friends, J.R. Blair and Steve McKee.

Preceded in death by first wife, Louise Ingram Croft; daughters, Frances Sue Croft and Marie Potter; son, Reno Croft; parents, James J., Sr. and Minnie Newman Croft; sisters, Evelyn, Rachel, Ruby, Ora Mae; one infant sister; brothers, Warren, Troy, R.C. and Elbert; mother-in-law, Alma A. Thompson; brother-in-law, Mike Roberts (who thought the world of him and are waiting on him in heaven).

The family will be meeting at 954 Southwick Drive, Alcoa (Andover subdivision). Funeral service will be 8 p.m. Friday, Madison Avenue Baptist Church, Maryville, Al Grubb, Rev. Rick Morgan and Rev. Anthony Morgan officiating. Interment at 11 a.m. Saturday, Haven Hill Memorial Gardens, Rev. Josh Headrick officiating. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Friday at Madison Ave. Baptist Church.
