Daughter of Omar and M. E. Sylvester
In April 1863, she and William Caldwell were married, and son Chester born the following year. The 1870 Census has them living in Albany, with husband William noted as 'laborer'.
By 1880, she was married to David A. Vance; the 1880 Census has her, husband D.A. Vance, and son Chester age 16 living in Benton Co.
Husband David left for Atlin British Columbia in February, 1899 (a recent gold discovery) and died there in April. The Dalles Daily Chronicle of May 15 notes that she had received word of his death.
Son Chester Caldwell died in 1937 and is buried at Evergreen Cemetery, Seaside, along with his wife Artensia.
