Earl Edward Baldwin was born on January 19, 1915 in Cora, Wyoming. He was the son of Margaret Magnolia Ray Baldwin and her first husband, Earl Tippett, and stepson of Cecil Burton Baldwin, Margaret's second husband. Earl died on January 31, 2012 at his home in Hermiston, Oregon at the age of 97 years. The family moved from Cora, WY to Alturas, CA when Earl was 5 years old. He was raised in Alturas and attended school there, graduating from Alturas High School in 1933. He was united in marriage to Maola Ruth "Ole" Smith on November 21, 1937 in Alturas, California. They moved to Hermiston, Oregon in 1947 where he has lived since. Earl worked at the Umatilla Army Depot for 20 years in various capacities including as a foreman before retiring in 1973. Before that he was superintendent of a logging operation and sawmill in Klamath OR. Earl also worked on the McNary Dam in Oregon. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Hermiston for many years and a life member of the Hunting and Fishing Club of America. Earl enjoyed hunting, fishing, picking huckleberries, gardening, and loved animals.

He is survived by his sons: Cecil Francis Baldwin & his wife Carol, Hermiston, OR, and Delbert Earl Baldwin, Sausalito, CA, sister: Cecilia Iris Baldwin Turner, Anderson, CA; brother Burleigh "Bill" Baldwin; Nephew-in-law Robert Smith, Santa Cruz; 10 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; and 4 great great grandchildren.

Earl was preceded in death by his wife: Maola Ruth Baldwin, his parents, and brother: Mickey Baldwin.

The graveside funeral service was held on Friday, February 10, 2012 at 10:00 A.M. at the Hermiston Cemetery, Hermiston, Oregon.
