Mrs. Velma S. Kughn, 71, of Rogersville, died at 1:45 p.m. Wednesday, October 24, 1973 at Greene County Memorial Hospital after a serious illlness of two weeks.

Born September 7, 1902 at Lima, W. Va., she was the daughter of Matthias Sheriden and Laura Snider Stockdale, and was married March 16, 1920 to the late Guy Kughn, who died October 4, 1961.

Mrs. Kughn lived most of her life in Center Township, and for many years owned and operated a restaurant in Rogersville with her husband. She was a member of the Bethany United Methodist Church.

Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Herman (Ellen) Kidwell of Crestline, Ohio; Mrs. Ralph (Margaret) Jones of Waynesburg; and Mrs. Joseph (Clarice) Main of Waynesburg R. D. 5; a son, Kenneth Kughn of Waynesburg R. D. 5; 17 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Bernice Pfender of Rogersville; and seven brothers, Hillard Stockdale of Waynesburg R. D. 5; Millard Stockdale of Waynesburg R. D. 1; Glenn Stockdale of Waynesburg; Conrad Stockdale of Painesville Ohio; Gale Stockdale and Randolph Stockdale, both of St. Petersburg, Fla.; and Russell Stockdale of Mars.

A brother, Ralph Stockdale, is deceased.
