James Robert Headberg, son of Harry Edwin and Myrtle "Edna" Wolley Headberg, born in Harper County, near Anthony, Kansas, was a decorated WWII Veteran, Bronze Star and Purple Heart recipient, serving in the United States Army from 1943 to 1945. He was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He was predeceased by his loving wife of 59 years, Helen, and is survived by his two sons, their families, grand children and great grandchildren. His passion for life was evident in his love of planes and boats and in his numerous Patented inventions. He will be missed by all. ~ CL Hileman 2012

JAMES R. HEADBERG Age 83 of Wellington, FL made his last flight on March 3, 2008 having passed of natural causes. Born in Anthony, KS in 1924, he was a decorated Purple Heart veteran of WWII. He was preceded by his loving wife of 59 years, Helen. He is survived by his sons: Dennis and wife Barbara, Brent and wife Debbie; grandchildren: Brian, Robert, Scott, and Stephanie; great grandchildren: Dustin, Parker, and Preston. His greatest love along with his family and friends was airplanes and boats plus anything with wheels. His career as a machinest was rewarded with several U.S. Patents. Family and friends are invited to a tribute to his life on Sunday, March 9 from 2 to 6 PM at the Pilot House, Wellington Aero Club, 15675 Take Off Place, Wellington, FL. In lieu of flowers, donations to SpecialOlympics.org in memory of Jimmie Headberg, honoring Brian.
