On 13 Sep 1848, he married Elizabeth Parrish. They had 13 children; one died in infancy (Augustus H. Littrell, Jr.). Their children were: William Adolphus, John Thomas, Mary Catherine, Henry Jackson, Frances George, Robert Blair, Laura Isabell, Alexander Via, Frank Edward and George Gibson. Augustus was a farmer and a wagon builder. At least one son was a carpenter.
The Littrell family began holding annual reunions about 1916. Early ones were held at The Lake Spring Resort and Mountain Park. Once Lakeside Amusement Park was opened, the reunions were held there. Attendees numbered around 150 and some brought close family friends along. The gathering had an opening prayer, business meeting, some type of speaker, a picnic lunch and a closing prayer.
Where Augustus and Eliza are buried remains a mystery. It is possible they were buried on the old homeplace near Kessler's Mill or in the Garst Family Cemetery. Field stones could have been used to mark the graves.
