It is with great sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of "Little" Lowell Thomas Preston Lister, at age 39.

Little was born Nov. 26, 1972, in Ventura and was raised in Oxnard. He attended St. John's Lutheran School and Oxnard High School. Little was the son of Lowell and Shirley Mae Lister, and the brother of Jenifer Lister-Diorio, Bryan Lister, and Garrett Lister. He passed away on Jan. 23, 2012, from an unexpected heart attack at his home in Camarillo.

He was a computer technician and smog tech for Lister's Auto Care, the family business. He began working on cars at the age of 10 at the family "76" service station. He was an avid car enthusiast. His passion for cars carried over into building his own '68 nitrous GTO and the many projects he worked on with his friends. He also had a great passion for boats and would take every opportunity to be out on the lake.

He is survived by his parents, Lowell and Shirley Lister; his sister, Jenifer Diorio and her husband Dan; his niece Andraya and nephew Nicholas; and his brothers, Bryan and Garrett. He is also survived by his grandparents, Charles and Shirley Unterberger. He had many aunts and uncles and he was extremely close to his Uncle David, along with his best friend and "brother" Mike Falk. He had numerous cousins who loved him. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Lowell and Lillian Lister.

Little touched the lives of many and was always surrounded by friends. His family loved him dearly and he will be deeply missed. He will be remembered for his gentle nature and his infectious smile. We are grateful for all the time we were able to spend with him everyday at work. "You may have left this earth, but your memory will never leave our hearts." In lieu of flowers, a memorial gift may be made to St. John's Lutheran School or your favorite charity .
