Garrie E. Barley, son of Wm. O. and Dazarene Barley, was born on October 29, 1900 and died January 31, 1921 at Mare Island, California. He enlisted in the marine service in Denver, Colo., June 7, 1920 and the following day was sent too Mare Island. His death is a great shock to his family as it was not known but a few hours that he was sick. His father, four brothers and six sisters mourn the loss of a noble son and brother.
