Obituary - William Otmer (Doc) Barley was born in Warren Co., Mo., August 13, 1857. He died at his home in Mexico, Mo., April 6, 1928.
Soon after his first marriage to Miss Janie Cox in 1882 he moved to Vernon Co., Mo. His wife died in 1891 leaving five small children. He then came back to Lincoln Co. and managed to keep the family together until he married his second wife, Miss Dazarine Elmore in 1894. Six children were born of this union. His second wife died in 1906 leaving to him again the care of the children. He was then married in 1909 to Ida Branstetter and one more child was born. Death claimed his third wife in 1914. In 1921 he was last married to Miss Mary C. Shelburn who survives him.
He is survived by 10 children, Virginia, Lula, Osie, Clint, Cliffie, Glenn, Irene, Bernice, Deslie and Reba. Also surviving are one sister, Mrs. Mildred Giles and a brother James K. Barley.
