Clarence Gonnering, 66, Colby, died early Wednesday morning at a Marshfield hospital. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Colby. The Rev. Francis Rushman will officiate, and burial will be in Dorchester Memorial Cemetery. Friends may call after noon Friday at Lulloff Funeral Home, Colby, where three rosaries will be said Friday; the Christian Mothers Society at 7:45 p.m.; the parish at 8:15 p.m. and a combined Knights of Columbus and Catholic Order of Foresters at 8:45 p.m. Mr. Gonnering was born June 11, 1905, in Port Washington. On June 6, 1940, in Dorchester, he was married to Mathilda Heindl who survives. He farmed in the Dorchester area until his retirement in 1966 when he and his wife moved to Colby. There he worked for the Johnson Silo Lumber Co. He was a member of the Dorchester town board, Knights of Columbus and Catholic Order of Foresters, the latter two of St. Mary's Church, Colby. Survivors, besides his wife, include four sons, Gerald, Dorchester, Robert, Curtiss, Dennis and Leon, both of Colby; a daughter, Mrs. Richard (Marlene) Gaffney, Wisconsin Rapids; two brothers, William, Rhinelander, and John, Beloit; four sisters, Mrs. Peter Karlen, Marathon, Mrs. John Fierstein, Mrs. Peter Fierstein, and Mrs. Jack Bauer, all of Milwaukee, and 10 grandchildren.
