Aunt Mariah's Lovely Head Stone was made for Her by Her Grand Daughter Judy with much love.
We all meet in Oconee Georgia in Oct.2011 for this wonderful Marker Dedication Service there were Serveral Grand Children there from Texas and Georgia there was Judy, Liz, Donna, Emory, Jimmy and Carol Ann & Jerry.
Freind's that were there also were Kathy and Cora and her husband.
Jerry made the markers for Abraham & Hannah Harris Barge who are my (Carol Ann ) G.G.G.Grand Parents we also did a Concrete Cross for my Uncle Charles who never Married he had some health issues.
My Husband Jerry & I found the old Barge Cemetery in Oct.2010 thanks to the help of some very kind people in Oconee Georgia, we had been told the Cemetery might have been plowed under during the Depression but Thank The Lord it wasnt when we found the old Cemetery there were only 2 Markers one was my Uncle James Madison Barge & his wife Mariah Martin Barge we were thrilled to find these markers and know for sure this was our Family Cemetery, I found 2 very old Sea Shells in the Cemetery were sure they were left there many years ago for Abraham & Hannah as Grandad Abraham was a Sea Captain.
I am thankful we were able to go back this past Oct. and put out the new Markers, there are serveral that still dont have head stones were planning a trip soon to add a couple more markers.
We had a great day cleaning our old Barge Family Cemetery it was a Honor to be able to help and then to place the new Markers for our Dear Ancestors we sang a couple of songs and had prayer and each Grand Child told how they felt about being there and being a part of such a Loving Family.
Rest in Peace Dear Ones we Love You and we have reclaimed Our Barge Family Cemetery.
