LANETT, Ala. - William C. Abner, 82, of Lanett, died Saturday at Lanier Memorial Hospital, Langdale.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. today at Johnson Brown-Servide Funeral Home, Langdale, with burial in Oakwood Cemetery, Lanett.
Mr. Abner was born June 20, 1907, in Randolph County, son of Mr. and Mrs. David Abner. He retired from Lanett Mill and was a member of Happy Valley Baptist Church, Lanett.
Survivors include his wife, Essie; three daughters, Wilma Hurst of LaFayette, Emily Buhanan and Joyce Amason, both of Huguley; two sons, Jordon H. Abner of Lexington, Ohio, and Jim Thomas Amason of Springfield, Va.; three brothers, Braxton Abner of Huguley, Merle Abner of Ashland and Buford Abner of Indianapolis; six sisters Lima Johnson of Lineville, Lora Childers of Weaver, Willie Jo Webb of Huguley, Novella Bradley, Geneva Emery and Alma Abner, all of Wedowee; 16 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren.
