She died 11 March 1863 Jersey Co.,IL. Married (2) Serena Brownfield, daughter of Benjamin Brownfield and Sarah Gilliworth, 23 March 1864,IL. To this marriage were born: Dora Jane (married my cousin Thomas B. Ruyle,Jr) Peachy Bell, Mary Lorena, Lewis Walter,III, Rose Elizabeth, Lucinda Caroline, Weathly Brownfield, Milton Cleaver and Rena May.

ELLIOT. Lewis Elliott, first supervisor of Ruyle Township died at home in Medora. 77 years. Born in Madison Co., moved to Jersey County where he was active in community affairs. Had left foot amputated few months before because of an injury. Leaves six children: Mrs T.B. Ruyle and Mrs Fred Dodge of Jerseyville, Misses Rose and Lulu Elliott of Medora, L.W. Elliott of Alton, Milton c. Elliott of Medora. Three other children and Mrs Elliott died several years ago. Burial in Medora Cemetery.
